BELMONT BOX ART WRAPS INITIATIVE

To ALL of the Artists who submitted for our Box Art Wrap Contest, you have helped us to increase appreciation and elevate education around the subject of Public Art in our community.

THE ORIGINAL ART SUBMISSIONS

that wrap signal, electrical and utility boxes in the downtown districts help visualize and demonstrate district identity and beautify public spaces.

  • Artists, photographers, designers and artist teams submitted art for boxes located across the three Downtown Belmont districts.

​

  • Eight art works were selected with community input from the total submissions to be printed on high quality vinyl wraps which were professionally installed on seven electrical, utility and traffic signal boxes.

​

  • Creators of the seven selected art works received an honorarium and were invited to share more about themselves and their art, in an effort to further public exposure, understanding and appreciation of public art.

Boxes are located in the three downtown districts of Belmont.  Each district was assigned a specific theme:  Water for River District; Innovation for Chronicle District; Rail for Historic District.  See how these artists chose to interprete these themes.
